Given that the courts were so far out of town, the venue could have made provision for basics like water that kids could buy.
With regards to tournament Organisation and officials. Boys U14 played first everyday which resulted in Girls U14 having to finished matches late in the day. Some matches were expected to be played until complete loss of visibility.
When a player says they cannot see it is not up to the official to decide if they are right or wrong. Every person has different visibility and it was unacceptable that our match was forced to continue playing post 18:00

Scheduled the play to take place at a venue with only two (2???) playable courts because of maintenance and normal coaching taking place. Two courts??? There are lots of open courts around CT available for play. Suggested by official that it was to save "travel time and costs" but what about parents that have to book extra accommodation, travel to and from venues and other parents having to change flights because of the Sunday mess? Their response: it is a 08:00 to 17:00 tournament which was published before-hand on tournament registration page so those traveling should have known in advance. Agreed. But then why do you call play off at 11:00 (IN THE MORNING) if the play is scheduled to take place till 17:00?
Makes no sense. Is the reason why WC tennis numbers dwindling - Gauteng Marks Park Grand Prix this weekend had almost three times the number of entries. How will the kids get anywhere when doubles is left to three quick-fire matches starting at 2 all, with high number of entrants withdrawing beforehand due to travel commitments? On a weekend with a mini maybe, but not a tournament that ran over 5 days, of which only one morning was lost to rain.
Can do better and our kids deserve better.
